Amsterdam And On Friday 21 April, 9.00-18.00 in Lab 111.

Johan Grimonprez, Ram Katzir and Kaweh Modiri will
tell about their work and give feed back to the pitches of a
storytelling project of ten students of VAV-moving image,
Gerrit Rietveld Academie. The morning is reserved for the
pitches, the afternoon for the lectures by the guests.

Johan Grimonprez (1962), is a Belgian filmmaker,
videoartist and curator. He is well known for his films Dial
H-I-S-T-O-R-Y, and Double Take. Grimonprez studied in Gent,
New York and at the Jan van Eyck in Maastricht.
------------------------------------------------------------
Ram Katzir ( 1969), Was born in Israel and
currently works and lives as an artist in Amsterdam. Katzir
studied at the Rietveld Academie, Cooper Union and the
Sandberg Instituut.

 Kaweh Modiri (1982) Was born in Teheran and lives
and works in Amsterdam. Modiri is a filmmaker and writer who
studied at the Rietveld Academie, where he graduated with
his film ?Mijn inbreker en ik?. Bodkin Ras is the latest
film.

The Y-7 program on 21 April is organized in honour
of artist Yariv Alter Fin ( 1968 - 2007), who passed away 10
years ago. Yariv was a pioneer in new media, both as a
student and teacher at the Rietveld Academie and the
Sandberg Instituut. In those days _faster than Nike and
better than Nokia in connecting people_. He was an inventor,
musician, visual artist and word artist. The storytelling
project is generously supported by the Alter Fin family and
curated by Nirit Peled, artist and documentary maker and
teacher at VAV-moving image. With thanks to the team of
VAV-moving image and the participating students.
